"...if we be honest with ourselves,
we shall be honest with each other." ~ George MacDonald

Why do I hate your sins?

Do I hate them when they only inconvenience me or do I hate them even when they don't?

God hates our sins because he loves us. He hates our sins because our sins (e.g. lying, stealing, cruelty etc) destroy us and hurt others.

Satan only hates those sins which inconvenience him. He does not hate it when some worship him as the one true God, believing that they are worshipping the creator of this world.

If I only hate your sins when they inconvenience me then I do not love you. The more I love you, the more I will hate those things which destroy you.

True love does not always seek the comfort of the one who is loved. The person who loves seeks what is best, even though the beloved may hate it.
