This man lived with Muslims in Aceh in Indonesia while doing field work for his PhD. Admittedly, the talk is given by a non-Muslim, so it is from a non-Muslim's perspective; but don't non-Muslims who have lived in Islamic societies (or who have lived under Sharia) have a right to tell their stories?
